2019 AGM minutes and 2019 President’s report

2020 Treasurer’s summary

 Nominations for President

Michael Baczynski

Michael is the current instructor for Jujutsu, FlexiFit, Kendo, and Iaido, and has been the discipline coordinator for Go, Arnis, Kyudo, Systema, Punchfit and Gym and Swim. He was the foundation President for BBRD, and undertook that role for the first 11 years of the Club’s existence. He has served roles on the board of the Queensland Kendo Renmei, and as an advisor to the Queensland Kyudo Association. He is a General Member of the Dai Nippon Butokukai, Jujutsu division.

His vision for the Club is to see it come through the current difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic in a solid position with little to no reduction in active members. He envisages spending the first portion of the coming Club year building systems to ensure the resilience of the Club, and build the capacity of all the Club’s executive members so that they too can work together to build the Club’s capacity.

Nominations for Secretary

Brady Albrand

I have been a member of the club since 2010 - a ten year journey - that has seen me consistently apply myself to my training and engaging in various club supported activities wherever and whenever I  can. During this decade of service to the club I have fulfilled many different roles, including being the treasurer for one year, several years as the general member on the executive and more recently the jujutsu coordinator. I have seen the club grow in number and ability during this time and my reason for nominating is this: to continue to help the club grow and continue to improve. I have actively taken part in all aspects of the organisation of the club and I recognise that hard work and relationships are the things that help to make a successful leader, including those within the club who have filled these positions to date.

Additionally, I recognise that I have been a part of many of these decisions in some way, whether discussing it before or after training or more formally at an executive meeting. I wish to continue on in this capacity in order to give back to the the club. My vision, should I be successful, is to continue to work with the president, the other core executive, the whole executive and general members to continue to build and sustain our club; particularly during our current situation.

Nominations for Treasurer

Grant Vickery

Being a second year university student at USQ, and still only a fresh face to BBRD, I still have time to grow and invest in the Club. As a Judoka from Dalby, coming across to Jujutsu has had its differences but can be circled back around to one objective, developing pre-existing and new skills together.

Having previously been treasurer within the Dalby Junior Chamber of Commerce, I bring experiences that will add value to BBRD, combining with the other executives helping the club to continue to grow. Through my experiences with the chamber, I have developed a set of robust interpersonal and communication skills, which serve to engage with internal and external stakeholders in order to fulfil the ambitions of the club and our members. Another unique attribute that I bring to the executive team is my connections within the university community. Being known amongst the staff and fellow students I am able to give insight into the current environment and culture, helping the club engage new members.

Nominations for General Member

Sian Carlyon

I would like to nominate for the position of General Member during 2020, in order to continue to provide backup for the new Executive members, in whatever capacity I may be able to give if required, and provide continuity of access to what knowledge may reside in my head of past corporate history, etc. I also provide a current USQ Staff number for us in regard to re-accreditation with USQ as a Club.
